It had been reported earlier that Vikram has a role in Mani Ratnam's film starring Abhishek and Aishwarya. This film would have been Vikram's tryst with Bollywood. But after the lukewarm response to the Bachchans' Sarkar Raj, it looks like Mani has decided to take an actor who has a national appeal. So it will be Sanjay Dutt taking Vikram's place. Vikram at present is working in Kanthasamy, which is expected to be a Deepavali release.
